Thank you for your post. Gradual dose reduction is now being implemented for all psychotropic medications, which includes tapering a dose to determine whether a lower amount can manage the symptoms or the risks. Nonetheless, before taking this action, I think it is essential first to conduct an evaluation that determines whether this approach is justified. It would be best to assess the patient’s reactions to this approach and find the best interventions beforehand. I agree that whereas GDR may help take the patient off high-risk medications, it can also be challenging when the GDR fails. The goal is to ensure that every regimen is devoid of extraneous medicines, such as those provided in excessive dosages, for excessive amounts of time, without proper monitoring and indications for usage, or when there are adverse side effects (Ghairatmal et al., 2020). I think it’s only a matter of time before you know whether the GDR would work on your client. Good luck, and thank you for this post.
